Member of Singapore Psychological Society (SPS): FM011031D

I started teaching psychology to university undergraduates, and while it was exciting to teach theory, I felt a calling to do clinical work.

I spent the next seven years working as a secondary school counsellor, which humbled me. I learned that each child has a voice that, when ignored, creates walls of pain

I then worked as a university counsellor, providing individual counselling and attending to students in crisis. I was trained in NOVA (National Organization for Victim Assistance) to provide trauma mitigation, education, and emotional first aid to the community in the aftermath of critical incidents. Witnessing feelings of inadequacy and loneliness, I realized our society could train the minds of our youth but not their hearts.

After leaving the university, I transitioned into group and later private practice. I worked as a mental health consultant in a tech MNC, supporting clients in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. I continue to work with international clients across different time zones. My clients have taught me that human pain and desires are universal.

Throughout this journey, I desired to understand more of what I did not know. But the more I discovered, the more I did not know. Could drugs be the solution? Or spirituality? I explored both Eastern and Western psychologies, being an analysand of Lacanian and Jungian psychoanalysis and reading interpersonal psychotherapy with the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology. I have trained in clinical hypnotherapy with the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy. I studied Ayurveda, astrology, numerology, and the tarot to broaden my understanding of the healing arts. I also underwent a shamanistic apprenticeship to journey deeper into the unconscious.

In the same way, my journey mirrors my work with clients, to deepen their awareness of their issues by examining the parts of themselves that they have neglected. My approach best suits those who have tried brief therapy or self-help but do not obtain lasting relief. The main focus is rediscovering one’s relationship to a richer and more fulfilling life by rebuilding broken paths.

My approach is primarily based on compassion and treating each individual as unique. With this in mind, I developed CARE (Compassionate Action Reimagining Experiences) Therapy. The result is collaborative, with the client as the expert in their life and my role as a guide to gain a greater awareness of their own experience in the waking world and navigate obstacles effectively.

I am an inclusive Mental Health Practitioner who supports members of ethnic and sexual minorities, mixed-raced and mixed-faith families and relationships, third-culture kids (TCK), and third-culture individuals (TCI). I also work with clients with complicated family upbringings and those yearning for a more profound and meaningful life.

I spent a long time searching for the mysterious, only to find it was always within me. I am deeply grateful that I have found freedom even as I continue to work through the knots in my life. Flowsophy is my artistry; through it, I hope people will find the healing needed to experience freedom.
